LOVE IT HERE
PATMOS
When we docked at Patmos, the typical white houses rising
up to the fortress-like monastery on the hill gave it an instant
magical feel.
But it was when we began wandering the peaceful pretty
streets that we got a real sense of its majesty. Hollywood stars
love it here. The week before we arrived Jennifer Lawrence
visited, while Julia Roberts has a house on the island.
Patmos is a cut above other islands. It’s quiet and pristine,
with that ‘old Greece’ charm. It’s impossibly beautiful but a
quick gander at the shops and boutiques reveals that the
island caters to those A-listers.
The prices are high, so while it’s a stunning island to visit, you
need deep pockets to stay here.

LIPSI
Lipsi is a small island which you can easily walk around.
Surrounded by a group of islets - even smaller, rocky,
uninhabited islands – it’s an ideal place to snorkel or kayak.
After a quick stop at the pebble beach, we headed straight
for the main attraction – Lipsi Winery. Walking uphill from
the harbour to the winery, we soaked up incredible views
over the bay.
After a short talk from the owners, we tasted the wines: a
white, a rose, a red and their prized dessert wine. Rich and
only slightly sweet, it’s very drinkable and easy to see why
it’s highly awarded.
