KALYMNOS
If you’re into climbing, Kalymnos is a paradise, and The North
Face hosts an annual climbing festival here that attracts
over 3,500 visitors.
Climbing has probably now taken over from the island’s
previous main industry of sponge, which locals used to free
dive to terrifying depths for.
So, you could say, in one way or another, this island is a home
for extreme sports.
If, like me, you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, a
wander around town shows an island of quaint narrow
streets, pavement tavernas, and a pretty orthodox church.
