MAJORCA’S WILD APPROACH TO WELLNESS
A typical morning begins with a hike, the Dry Stone Route,
a coastal mountain path between Deià and Sóller, being
one of the most famous. Then wander into one of the area’s
stone villages for a traditional lunch, basking in the warmth
of the Mediterranean sun.
Meals are unhurried and often enjoyed outdoors using local
ingredients. Specialities include hearty stews 昀氀avoured
with local herbs like wild rosemary and thyme, locally
produced olive oil and aromatic mountain honey. Seafood
fans shouldn’t miss the area’s prized Sóller red prawns.
For relaxation, meditative forest walks scented with Aleppo
pine provide a chance to exhale, or visitors can book into
a sunset yoga session while listening to the gentle hum
of cicadas. Plus, there’s no shortage of immersive and
luxurious outdoor spas.
At Hotel Valldemossa, guests are immersed in nature
through an outdoor gym and spa area overlooking the
impressive former monastery La Cartuja. Meanwhile, Hotel
FontSanta features the only natural thermal springs in the
Balearics suitable for immersion, allowing guests to bathe
in healing waters of 38C.
Ca’n Beneït has arguably the island’s best garden spa,
situated on a 200-year-old former chapel estate. The spa
area complements its natural surroundings with a wooden
heated pool and rustic outdoor sauna.
The Tramuntana mountains are also well known for their
intimate yoga retreats set among nature, with hotels such as
The Lodge offering dedicated movement holidays alongside
their free daily classes for guests.
Getting there: Fly to Palma Airport from the UK. The mountains
are up to an hour’s drive away.

SESSIONS
A holiday in Majorca’s mountains is just one expression of the
Balearics’ more peaceful side. Menorca offers hidden coves and
a slower pace of rural life, while Formentera reveals unspoilt
island beauty, and Ibiza’s north is de昀椀ned by its tranquil,
spiritual energy.
