KUUMA NOORD
AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS
The Kuuma brand of self-service saunas are located all
over the Netherlands, but the Kuuma Noord option is
nestled in a fun neighbourhood with breweries, climbing
walls, food markets and incredible riverfront views across
to Amsterdam Centraal. Book on, get your code, and let
yourself in and out. Make sure to remember the door code
between cold shower rounds, otherwise you won’t be able
to get back in!

ALLAS POOL
SAUNABOOT
HELSINKI, FINLAND
LUCERNE, SWITZERLAND
You can’t think of saunas without going to Finland, the
sauna’s birthplace. In the Finnish capital, head to Allas Pool
on the waterfront. Here, you have the choice of 昀椀ve saunas,
with three being unisex and one each for men and women.
You’ll 昀椀nd both heated and sea water swimming pools open
year-round where you can take a dip.
There are 昀氀oating saunas that sit stationary on a lake and then
there’s Saunaboot. With a few of these sauna boats across
Switzerland, you can steer around Lake Lucerne, Zurich,
Geneva, Thun and Lugano. You don’t need any training or a
boating licence – anyone aged 18 or over can helm a sauna
boat – and there’s a ladder off the back for a plunge. Add on a
drinks package for a more pampered vibe.
